Mark Tyson Rocks Third Place Finish at Mountain Speedway
Berwick, PA (July 13, 2013)- With a career-best finish of third multiple
times, Mark Tyson of Hatboro, PA headed into competition Saturday night
at Mountain Speedway determined to take his #22 WARRANT – I Saw Red
Grand Prix to victory lane. Although he nearly finished in the second
spot, Tyson was overtaken in the late going and ended the day with yet
another third place effort.
Frank Hughes started from the pole position and led the opening circuit
of the 30-lap Late Model feature over Mitch Hawk and Mark Tyson moved by
Riley Moczulski to take third.
With one lap complete, Hawk made his move on the leader and grabbed the
race lead. Three laps later, Tyson got by Hughes for the runner up spot
and then Moczulski got by Hughes for third.
Without any yellow flags to slow the action, Hawk began to pull away
from the field and Moczulski hounded Tyson for second. With one lap
remaining, Moczulski made the pass on Tyson stick to grab second.
Unchallenged for the win, Hawk took the checkers for his third win of
the season. Moczulski was the runner up, followed by Tyson, Glenn Slocum
and Hughes.
